Salvation Has Me

I trust that it has you too. A wise Christian friend expressed the delightful truth that not only does he have salvation but salvation has him. It is delightful because if it was only that we have salvation, we might be able to let go of it. Because salvation has us we are secure, even though in our weakness we would be unable to hold on to it.

2 Corinthians 6:16: And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Ezekiel 11:20: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

John 1:11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

1 Corinthians 6:19: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God*s. 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

1 Peter 1:18: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Acts 27:22: And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man*s life among you, but of the ship. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

John 10:28: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father*s hand.

John 17:12: While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

2 Timothy 1:12: For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Ephesians 4:30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

In the powerful grip of the Father and the Son and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Now that is what I call security. Does salvation possess you? If it does not possess you, I fear that you do not possess it. A form of salvation that is not able to possess you would be a frightfully weak salvation. A God who is not able to possess you would be a frightfully weak god.
